Return

I'm BAAAAAAAAAACK! I can't believe it has been so long since I posted. I have so much to catch up on I don't even know where to start. For one, I don't think anyone but Jade reads this but just in case, yes we are still in Louisville. John has a wonderful job and I can't wait to see him achieve all of his goals. Also in about a month.....

We will be welcoming this beautiful little girl to our home. We can't wait to meet you Lily Danielle.

Obviously alot has been going on and there are still quite a few things on my mind but thats for another time. I have a healthy husband, a healthy baby and its another day that I can wake up and say Thank You Lord, I don't have anything to complain about.

Just A Thought

I am amazed by kids, a simple statement for a simple reason. Kids believe. They believe that moms kisses and dads hugs can make everything better, they believe that if they wait up long enough they will catch a glimpse of Santa and they believe in people. Kids are not wary of people, you will never see a child shy away from someone, in all of their innocence they will open their hearts to anyone. We as people grow into our hardened hearts that we have today and we don’t even realize when it happens. It sickens me that when I see someone less fortunate that my first instinct is not “what can I do to help?” but to avoid eye contact and carry on my way. When did it become a burden to help someone less fortunate? I am waiting for that day to come when helping the less fortunate happens because it is the Christian thing to do and not just because it’s a tax write off. I am in no means trying to push the fact that I am perfect and my every waking hour is spent helping people because its not. I am only a human therefore I do make mistakes and selfishness is one of them but I AM human and I have the ability to correct my mistakes and that is exactly what I plan to do this Holiday Season. So the next time you walk by someone and you get the urge to avert your eyes, smile at them and say hi, or the next time you buy lunch, get an extra sandwich just in case you see someone that may need it. This Christmas I urge you to revert back to your childhood and believe in the goodness of God’s people. I pray you all have a blessed day.

I'm REAL!

I'M REAL!! I know it was getting to the point of seeming like I wasn't even a real person cause I NEVER have photos on here, well today I was able to give you a little treat by getting this one posted.

I am not going to insult your intelligence by insinuating that I am a wise person, but I do have a wise piece of advice to pass along. I know that you probably get tired of hearing this people but smile. I am not by any means trying to push that "smile and the world smiles with you" crap because thats what it is, crap. Just because you smile the whole world is not going to be peachy keen, there have been plenty of times that I have smiled at people who have in turn just cussed me out. If they are smiling along with me then they have an odd smile. I don't walk around grumpy but I do save my best smiles for the people that I know its going to help. I see people who look like they have had a hard time, for example:

Smile at the mothers who are struggling to find the quarter to buy their child some candy.

Smile at the old man who makes himself get out of bed everyday to go to the mall just so that he has something to do.

Do you see that woman or child with bruises?

Smile, just smile so hard your cheeks hurt. I cannot emphasize how much the fact that you acknowledged them will mean. As humans beings we forget a lot of the time the power we actually have, I mean we have the ability to change someones day for the better or worse. Why in the world aren't we changing more peoples day for the better? You have so much more power than you will ever recognize and I wish I had the ability to make you realize how special each and everyone of you are.

We are getting really close to holiday season. I just ask that when you see someone that you would normally walk by and ignore please just say smile, say hi. That would be the best gift ever.

Give the gift of acknowledgment.

Sorry for rambling

Good night and may God continue to bless.

Like They Were The Only Ones There

When you change your outlook to life, its amazing the kind of things you see. My husband works at a mall and most of the time he works until closing which leaves me sitting in the mall parking lot watching all the people while I wait on him to come out. Last night as I sat in the car waiting and the rain pouring down, there were about twenty people in front of the mall waiting for the bus, but there two that caught my eye. There was young man who looked to be about twenty years old and just by looking at him, in my mind I had already deducted that he was a thug or drug dealer just by the way he was dressed. Beside him was, obviously, his little brother who was mentally handicapped. I watched at they joined the group of people waiting for the bus and the little boy was growing increasingly agitated and restless having to stand still for so long. Noticing this the young man looked around and then gently tapped his little brothers arm and took off running. Noticing his brothers boredom he started an impromptu game of tag and they ran and played in the rain for at least fifteen minutes. No one laughed at them, no one whispered and pointed fingers, everyone smiled at the blessing they were seeing play out in front of them. I personally sat in my car with tears running down my face as I thanked God for showing me another lesson, the age old "Don't judge based on looks" Finally John came out and got in the car and we headed home and as we left I looked in the rear view mirror and they were still out there playing, like they were the only ones there.

Trying

I recently happened upon a website called www.givesmehope.com and I have never cried so hard in my life. I will be the first to admit that I have a hardened heart when it comes to the human race. When people do something nice I don't see it as a kind gesture, I see them as being nice because they want something in return. I did not believe that people could just be nice. I read the stories on that site and I saw the works of genuine compassion and I believe that I was directed to that website for a reason.

I want to be someone that sees someone in need and wants to help them instead of thinking, "oh if I buy that man food he is just going to be insulted."

I want to be that person that is able to open my heart to what the Lord is saying instead of slamming it shut scared.

I want to be that person that I feel like I used to be.

I want to be a good christian and an example to all around me.

So I am going to change my outlook.

When you see me I will smile, I hope you smile back.

If there is anything I can do to help someone I will do it.

I am going to stop being so selfish, I need to remember that God will always provide.

I am trying and thats all I can do.

God Bless and good night

30 Day Challenge

I have been wanting this game for so long and John got it for me yesterday! I immediately hooked it up and made my fitness profile. Of course I didn't take time to read the book to see what any of this meant so when it said take 30 day challenge I was like "sure, sign me up." Ohnononononono. Yesterday I worked out for 22 minutes and I burnt 164.7 calories. Today I worked out for 30 minutes and burnt 217.4, I have never been pushed so hard in my life and strangely I LOVE IT. I strongly recommend this game to anyone who is trying to lose weight. You just have to curb your desire to pause it when it gets hard :)

Changes...Part Two

Wow I cannot believe thats it been so long since I blogged. I remember just last week I was sitting around trying to think of something to blog about and I was just wishing for something to happen to me...I will never do that again.

John and I have both been on the hunt for jobs. We have each applied at about four places and I am just praying that someone calls. The hard part is that we actually have a job in Indiana and we went up this week to check the town out and it just didn't feel right. I sat up all last night and just prayed about our situation and I just didn't feel comfortable moving there. I really love living in Louisville and I am hoping with everything in me that we will be able to stay here. Eventually I would like to settle down here and start a family but it has been so hard.

I still have stuff in Pikeville that I have to get in storage!!! And yes Jade, I promise that I will be there before this month is over.

I know that this is just a rambling, pretty uninteresting post and I apologize. Sometimes if I have alot of stuff on my mind it helps me to see it in black and white. I hope everything has been going well for you guys.

Good Night and God Bless

Ohmygoodness

I think I had a date last night! You have to understand, this doesn't happen often at my house. John and I love each other but we don't get to sit down and specifically hang out with just each other alot, most of the time there is always someone else with us. Yesterday my hubby surprised me by not getting on the computer (which I knew he had made plans to get on and talk to one of his friends from California) and just holding me and watching Kung-Fu Panda. AHHH, thats the life right there. Did I mention I had a McChicken? Then we had a Dance Dance Revolution tournament. People, let me tell you, I am an old 20 year old. I cannot hop around like that anymore haha. Three songs in and I was on the ground asking for water! Then we curled up on the couch and watched Chronicles of Narnia. I actually enjoyed the movie even though I protested the whole time he was getting it ready. The only bad thing was that John had to get up at 6:30AM for work and the movie didn't go off until 2:30AM. That was the last thing our minds though, for the first time in a long time we were getting to enjoy each others company and it just seemed like we were the only people in the world.

This Was Horrible

Did anyone else watch this last night? Was I just in a bad mood or was everybody (with a few exceptions) just really bad?

The Fab Five- they were great! they already act like a pro group. They got their props and they worked with them. They moved around the stage and they just showed off their dance moves with such grace I enjoyed watching them.

Paradizo Dance- these two are becoming my fast favorite. They are newlyweds and you can tell by how sensual their dance is, and of course its just really cool that his 100 pd girl can lift this 200+ pd guy like he is a feather.

Alizma- needs.to.go.home. NOW they do not take any criticism at all, and they just seem snooty. they have been told repeatedly "do not sing, just play the violin and you will go far in the competition." so what do airheads 1,2 and 3 do? they sing while wearing zebra fedoras and showcasing their best stripper moves. The Hoff couldn't even find anything encouraging to say to them.

The Beale Street Flippers- was boring thats all you can say. They talked about how daring their act was going to be and all they did was some backflips and then a guy jumped over another guy and in the process grabbed a rose(?) off his back. I was bored.

The little girl- cannot sing. I didn't think she did good on the audition. she is just too young she needs a few more years to grow I think.

SQ Entertainment- Better fit for Americas Best Dance Crew. they can dance but its the same tired routine you see from every street group.

sadly out of twelve acts thats all I can remember. It was a sad night was television is all I can say. Well tonight we will see who America voted through. I will be sure to let you know :)

God Bless

Just Wondering?

Is anyone else as excited about this as I am!? I will go ahead and warn you, if you don't like this show then stop reading this blog, cause when this season starts 99% of the time I will be blogging about it! haha

It's Been A While....

...and I sincerely apologize. I feel like I haven't blogged in forever. I have had a mild medical issue but now I have my medicine so all is right with the world haha.

A catch up- we have been flooded like crazy here! I woke up yesterday and it sounded like a river was going by my front door. Now most of you know that I live in a city and there are no rivers in my apartment complex. Yea, it didn't take me long to do the math either. I slung open the door and there was about 3 inches of water rushing by and it was still pouring the rain, we ended up getting 5 inches in 2 hours. I was blessed with the fact that my apartment was not flooded and John did not get flooded in at work. Alot of landmarks took a beating though, like Churchill Downs. OK no more pessimistic stuff I just wanted to let you all know I was still here, I haven't given the blog up yet haha.

This is the library in Downtown Lousiville. THOUSANDS of books were damaged and all the new computers that were purchased were floating by the end of the day. If you are just laying in bed tonight and cannot think of anything to pray for, please pray for this area, there are alot of families that could use it.

Good Night and God Bless

Fast Recap To A Slow Day

What a day, what a boring, boring day! Yesterday the UPS man left a wonderful little note on the door letting me know that he would be back today anytime between 10:30 and 2...you really couldn't narrow it down anymore than that?! So I was stuck all day in the apartment when he FINALLY showed up at 1:30! Now don't be confused, I don't go anywhere during the day it was just the fact that I actually couldn't go anywhere that was killing me. I felt as if the walls were closing in haha. So me and Sam worked out and passed the time. Believe if you guys want to burn the calories buy the Dancing With The Stars Latin Cardio DVD, I know it sounds stupid but you get a good workout from it especially the 15 minute toning section. If you do get it make sure you are by yourself the first time you do it, I don't know about you but I have no rhythm so I was not a merengue, cha-cha, samba, mambo pro haha. I am working on it though.

On a side note SO SO SO SO excited to go home for the weekend!!

God Bless
